Include / Exclude filters for local media

The more I think about this, the more it morphs. Originally I thought it would be a good idea to have a custom tag or tags that could be set in MA for filesystem media. My first use was 'Is full album', so that way I can mark a tracks that belong to a complete music album (as opposed to individual tracks). Then it was, perhaps I really don't want to listen to christmas/holiday/novelty/etc music with the built in random playlists. Or conversely, maybe I only want to listen to it.

What about having a broad filter
Filters would be either Include or Exclude. I see there are other requests to play by Genre and this could be a way to do it. If MA presented a list of distinct Genre's, you could checkbox the ones you want to Include (or Exclude if that is what you are looking for). The ability to save these filters would be immensely useful. To me, the filters would apply to the random playlists, but also for the browsing by artist/album/track and search. The UI should have an indicator you are using a filter, as well as an easy way to turn on/off said filter.

In the future, filters could be extended to other datapoints beyond genre. For example, the custom tag I mentioned earlier, but I think filtering would be more broadly useful. In the other Media Server Libraries, filtering would be great as well. They may actually have some of this already exposed.
