Virtual Keyboard in Search

Possibility of adding to add a virtual keyboard in the search tab, I've got a few touchscreens with no keyboards attached running raspberry pi's. I've tried a few OS Virtual keyboards but none really function really well i.e. they don't pop up on the text input field (matchbox, onboard, chrome extension for simple keyboard.)
