Fully Restore state of mediaplayer (speaker) after a tts message #3844

It is not possible as MA can't control most external sources. We definitely can give it a try so it might work in some cases but it's not as simple as you may think. The whole idea is that MA is actually playing music to a player so it knows exactly how to resume |

Well I‘m curious on how MA can switch the speaker to „Server“ input bat cannot switch back? |

Just an idea: If MA would create a temporary sceene for the speakers it is using for the anouncement and runs that sceene when its's finished it would do the trick. So this would only go half the way. |

As it is now, MA takes control of any HA speaker that are in the system. As a nice feature it make it possible to make an announcement on a given speaker and afterwards restore the music playing. It even sets a different volume for the announcment and restore the original volumn when the announcment has played. So I thought, it would also restore other setting of the speaker as well.
Unfortunately that doesn't work as I expected. I tried to file this as a bug but was rejected as MA is not supposed to do that.
My problem is as follows:
I have several Yamaha musiccast speakers that most of the time play something, not streamed from the MA server. e.g. Net Radio, Musiccast group etc.
What happens now is when I make an tts anouncement with HA using the speakers, MA uses them to manage the volume, the announcent jingle, play the tts message, restores the volume and fails, when trying to resume the previous palying music, because it fails to restore the proper input of the speaker.
So my request would be to restore the full state of the speaker as it was before the announcement.
I hope I decscribed this properly, so that people can understand.
Cheers
