Player Provider Poll #2

Two years have passed since the last poll. In that time player providers for Bluesound, MusicCast, and the Web Browser/Companion App have been added.

HEOS is known to be the most requested player provider. Hopefully that will happen soon so that is not included in this poll.

Also not included is LINKPLAY as that is high on the project's priority list already.

The list below is taken from existing requests in these discussions but there are about 80 integrations in HA tagged with media player so if you want to suggest another then put it in the comments but before you do check if someone else has already asked for it and if so just upvote that comment.

Thanks @OzGav. I recently purchased two Unifi PowerAmps and I would like to add my vote for this device to be supported please. The PowerAmp itself supports airplay2 and spotify connect, but unfortunately these don't work with Music Assistant - unless I'm missing something?

Should "Resonate Media Player" ("Resonate Audio Player") be its own thing or are all "Resonate protocol" clients a ESP32-based Player Provider?

Asking since anyone could really implement a "Resonate Audio Player" on any platform, not just for ESPHome but also also for ex. Raspberry Pi.

PS: FYI, Open Home Foundation voice lead developer recently launched a new Linux Voice Assistant project that is bastically an experimental Linux voice assistant for Home Assistant that uses a port of the ESPHome protocol, with goal to support hardware like example Raspberry Pi.

In theory, Resonate could be supported by any device.

That is how I understood it to, and marcelveldt mentioned in this other thread that there is a wish to someday also see the Resonate protocol supported by third-party player clients (e.g. media player appliances like media streamers, open-source voice assistants and smart speakers):

I would like to see support for Roon (Ready) devices, although the Roon "experience" is more than a Roon device. And if Music Assistant supports Linkplay natively I don't think I would have a big need for Roon (Ready) devices.
