Let's say wife added new MP3 file to the NAS music folder that I have mounted in Music Assistant. This new track will not show up immediately in MA, one has to open the settings, providers and click the "Synchronize now" button: 
Is there a way to trigger this programmatically, from Home Assistant? I'd like to add "Sync files" button to my dashboard... |

There is a backlog item for this. ETA unknown. You could use the API for this but it is not designed for users and may break in the future so we don't offer any offical support. |

Hmm, does restarting the addon trigger the synchronization? Also, is the API documented somewhere? Or do we need to read the clients' code? |

No the sync is done according to the Music Controller setting. The API is not documented. If you search for rest_command on here you will find some examples. |
