Provide simpler maps

Hello,

The map is hard to read with all those cafés and restaurants. I wish there were a simpler map such as Shortbread on osm.org.

I for one would gladly pay for it if the reason they are there is for a commercial reason.

What is your use case? Why do you need a clean map without POIs?

Yes. I import the KML files before leaving for a trip.

I don't know what it means. I simply don't want to see businesses when I need a basic map.

I understand that it's always a choice what to include when importing data from OSM, but I wish OM would provide a simpler map, for a fee if needed.

The search can highlight only relevant places (e.g., sights, supermarkets, or bike shops) to quickly find them on the map.

If you are interested only in KML/bookmarked data, then you don't need/want to see anything else on the map, thanks for clarifying it.

P.S. Where do you import KML from? Is it a public source?

There's some misunderstanding.

The cafés/restaurants I'm refering to are not the result of a search: They are natively shown on the map. I simply find they needlessly make the map harder to read when zooming in.

I understand your case and your issue. What I'm suggesting is that by using search, you may quickly see necessary object types even if there are too many places rendered on the map.
