Images rendered with wonky aspect ratio

Hi everyone,

I recently switch over to hosting my Hugo/Thulite Doks website on Gitlab pages, but for some reason the switch caused my imbedded images to rendered in incorrect aspect ratios as seen in the attached image.

There are other images that have wonky aspect ratios, but none as bad as that one.

If possible, I would like to know how Hugo/Thulite dictates the rendered aspect ratio, given the intrinsic one shown in the photo
