Resizable sidebar

I believe that a resizable sidebar would greatly improve usability. Currently, long playlist names in the sidebar are turned into full stops, even when there is plenty of screen space available.

By changing some CSS, I found that setting width: 100% on .app-music #app-navigation increases the space available for text, but does't actually resize the sidebar. This results in some playlist names being cut off, as the visible sidebar width doesn't change.

Ideally, the sidebar's right edge should be draggable to allow resizing.

Could I build on this suggestion with 2 ideas? 🙏

I completely agree with @majkelwaltuh's suggestion of making the sidebar resizeable - this is default behaviour (I think) in Nextcloud now. (I can't find an issue/blog post explaining this, but I'm almost sure I read something about it!)

In the case of long playlist names, instead of what happens currently (user sees just ...) that:

1. the user sees part of the playlist name, which is then terminated in ... if the name is "too long"?

2. when viewed in the sidebar - playlist names longer than X characters (not sure how to define this) show the beginning of the name, but it is then terminated in ellipsis if it is "too long".

3. Currently, if a user hovers over the playlist name in the sidebar, the playlist name is not shown, only the number of tracks in the list. This could be expanded to show the playlist name AND the number of tracks.

I just realized that when the playlist name is too long, it's not merely truncated with ellipses but actually replaced entirely by the ellipses. This part is definitely a bug. CSS is weird.

The overly long playlist names showing only as ellipses is now fixed in Music v2.4.0 which was just released. There's also the tooltip suggested by @ei8fdb. The resizable navigation pane requested in the OP may still be considered at some later time.
