More obvious score system?

Currently the score system is not very obvious. After quite a few games I think the multiplier goes down based on the time you have the sudoku open? I think it doesn't stop counting down even when the sudoku app is in the background.

The amount of points per correct number is not obvious, nor is the penalty for an error or a broken series.

Just had the multiplier randomly go to x1 from x27 in a consecutive game, too.

No background detection implemented. The multiplier is reduced by time. Every 34 seconds.
The points are number * factor and for each row, column and sector 11.25 * factor.
Right now it starts with 27 but i want to do higher mutiplier at the start when started with higher difficulty.
