Alienware M18 (2023) keyboard module for 96% ULP Keyboard (0T5H49) #16
Description
While there are no off-the-shelf 96% layouts with Cherry ULP switches, you can scavenge the 96% keyboards from Alienware M18 laptops online (Part number 0T5H49) for very cheap. They connect via a 34-pin 0.5mm pitch FPC cable and can be attached to an arduino Teensy according to this guide: https://www.instructables.com/How-to-Make-a-USB-Laptop-Keyboard-Controller/
I followed this guide and made a working USB keyboard with this laptop keyboard module. The hardest part is the programming, so I've uploaded the Arduino code that is made with the Teensy 4.1 here: https://github.com/realbaconator2/Cherry-ULP-96-Keyboard-from-Alienware-M18
