Icons - Font Awesome dependency is several years old #11907

Font Awesome 5 is in long term support, but 6 has been available now since 2022: https://fontawesome.com/versions
There have been several changes made to existing icons, and several icons have been dropped. There are also new icons. Do we want to support Font Awesome long term? If so, it may be valuable to manually validate the changes to see what they are, and bring in the deprecated icons as custom icons so we don't break anyone.
Is this request originating from a Red Hat product team? If so, which ones and is there any sort of deadline for this enhancement?
