Description
When an ending animation from a special menu is attempted to be played, there is an ADPCM noise at the appearance of the menu.
This initially seems to be related to an ADPCM issue.
How to reproduce:
The menus for selecting scenes like this must be enabled first; this is easiest done by enabling the "Test Mode" first:
- At normal startup, "NEC" logo will be shown, and an opening animation will play. Press RUN to go to the start menu.
- On the game mode selection screen, there will initially be only one selection: "はじめから”.
- Instead of selecting this, press Left + Select + Run at the same time
- The "Test(てすと)" option will appear on the screen
- Place the cursor on "Test(てすと)" and press I to access the bonus mode. The "おまけ" menu will appear.
Now, select an ending animation:
- Select the おまけ choice. A new menu will scroll into view, with sets of animations. -> This is where the strange noise appears.
Once that issue is fixed, a final validation needs to be performed to ensure that the final animations also run correctly:
- Select the last item in this menu, "エンディングコレクション". A new menu will appear, with several different animations for each type of ending.
- Select the first one in the list ("プールに来ちゃったー"). It should start with background music and a voice should appear (as it does on real hardware); instead no sound occurs, and the playback freezes with a black screen a few seconds later.
