Zone remains on after HA restart

@petergridge Thanks a lot for a very useful tool.
It happened to me that during the irrigation process I restarted HA and after it started, the zone that was active at that moment remained permanently open. The code did not perform a test of its integrity and left the switch entity in the active state even after the irrigation timing ended. Would it be possible to somehow treat this unpleasant condition?

Hi,

I can add a routine to attempt to turn off related switches on a restart, but this cannot be guaranteed as depending on the controller it can take some time for it to reconnect to HA by which time the irrigation program may have restarted, the best approach will be to make an automation that satisfies your particular installation.

My controller turns switches off if it disconnects from HA, the advantage of a home build 😄

I would recommend that you create an automation that turns off the switches as part of the shutdown/startup process of HA, hopefully one of these will catch the issue you describe.

Peter thx for your hints. It is good idea. I will do it.
My controller is stateful, based on Mosquitto MQTT. When I restart MQTT server, switches stay in the same state as before restart :-(
I am using Kincony ESP32 Smart Controller – B16 (16CH Relay)

I have updated some processes in the upcoming release to turn off any configured zones/pumps associated with the program.

Additionally I have updated the pump process to turn on simultaneously with the solenoids.

You could also consider flashing your ESP32 device with ESPHome, it will then turn off when disconnected from HA.
