Feature Request: take watering duration input from another entity

I'm using the integration Smart Irrigation to flexibly calculate my irrigation duration based on the calculated evapotranspiration, amount of actual rainfall, etc. The integration's output is a duration in seconds for each zone, recalculated daily. I'd like to be able to use this to set my duration, preferably by selecting the relevant entity.

While you cannot set the watering time directly from another sensor this is a workaround to achieve the same result:

In the advanced options set the watering unit to seconds:

Set the adjustment sensor to the Smart Irrigation sensor that provides the watering time.

In the zone set the watering time to 1s.

Now when the program runs the watering time (1) will be multiplied by the Smart Irrigation value to provide the actual run time in seconds.

Fantastic, thank you!! A related question - to use eco mode, is the watering time automatically divided by the number of repeats that are set, or will I need to make a template sensor and divide it by the number of repeats I plan to set, then use that sensor as the watering time instead?

For ECO mode you will need to divide by the number of repeats. The watering time is the time for each cycle.
