Using Super+Tab to switch between apps is horrible. In the first place, it should switch back to the last app used. But worse, it only provides a list of 8 apps to switch between. Now if I have 6 firefox windows open, then 6 of the 8 regardless of any other app I have open are always there. It should be only 1 app per tab, then Super+` to switch between windows of an app. Some apps opened after the 8 slots have been filled never show up (eg. terminal).

This is the typical difference between Super+Tab and Alt+Tab on other platforms. A reasonable feature request with clear reasoning. I would encourage you open an issue for this feature in the cosmic-launcher repository.
