Help setting up an external monitor

With Prasanthrangan's hyprdots it works fine when I connect an external monitor via HDMI. But when I want to do a fresh install of Arch with Hyprland, when I connect the external monitor, the system crashes and sends me to sddm. I don't know what else I should configure to prevent this from happening, I copied the configuration from hyprland.conf that has these dotfiles but it doesn't work for me. Help please :(
