Can we have a real-world input?

I think it's fairer to have a real-world input because some kinds of passes are required for real-world inputs but not necessary (at all) for benchmarks in this repository.

If you don't have a good example, I'd want to recommend selecting a few from https://github.com/kdy1/swc-minifier-inputs/tree/main . These files are real bundles generated from open source next.js apps like shadcn-ui/webapp and formbricks.

As a side note, https://github.com/kdy1/swc-minifier-inputs/blob/a967ebba1668d1f78e1b5077bdbdce6ad0bfcaee/formbricks-webapp/app/(app)/environments/%5BenvironmentId%5D/integrations/google-sheets/page/input.js is the file that takes the longest time to minify with SWC (worst case among all files in the repository)

Using real-world inputs makes sense, but it's tricky since real-world apps vary so much. That's why I thought using libraries as a baseline was a reasonable approach—they make up a significant portion of many apps' distribution size and provide a relatable metric for most developers. Seeing results in terms of popular package sizes helps put things into perspective.

I'll take a look at the link you sent and explore how we can incorporate more representative test cases. It might be a good idea t at least add a "Hello World" Next.js/Nuxt.js app and then analyze how minification scales as the complexity of the app increases. That said, since we can only benchmark so much, we'd likely need to remove some library artifacts in favor of app artifacts.

The idea of hello world app sounds good to me. I can extract them from a next.js app if required.

Maybe some of these projects, there is some frontend, backend and fullstack apps with different frameworks, they are maybe not really complex or anything but they could help to test on multiple frameworks on the same use case.
