listen_omni.py junk packets after a minute or two

If I run listen_omni.py (rileylink & FT232 dongle ) everything seems to work for a minute or two and then I get a continuous stream of the following response

PacketResponse("989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898")

It does not stop until I reset the cc1110

Any ideas?
