It would be nice to have the ability to be able to automatically update from this git repository.
Potentially configurable so it can all update from develop for those of us who don't mind unstable builds. Definitely configurable so it can be enabled/disabled with ease.

Seeing as we use python packaging for distribution (which can use an arbitrary git repository), I'm not sure there would be any way to automatically update.
However, having a message on the client interface telling the user an update is available is possible, as well as having a command line option to update.
