Description
What happened?
Currently, sample labels (also called sample names) are transferred and stored in openbis upon sample creation.
This information should not be mirrored to openbis as we end up with two different data points after update. When editing a sample and changing its name, the change is not reflected in openbis.
The name should only exist in the database as to avoid confusion on the currently valid information.
Steps to reproduce:
- Register samples in your favorite project (with sample names)
- Verify in openbis that the sample was created there and sample name is entered as
label - Edit the sample in the data manager and change the sample name
- Observe the label in openbis is not changed.
