What is the bug or the crash?

I set a categorized symbology on vector point layer and I hide features without Z values.
Profile tool still samples these features, uses them for snap tool, to compute min/max, etc but are not plotted on graph.

Steps to reproduce the issue

On layer with elevation set :

• Set a categorized symbology
• Hide some features
• Plot
• See hidden feature are in profile data (used for snap, min/max) but not plotted

3.40.1 Win10

Supported QGIS version

• I'm running a supported QGIS version according to the roadmap.

New profile

• I tried with a new QGIS profile
