Session: Praktische Resilience Patterns: Quarkus & SmallRye in Kubernetes-Microservices
Speaker(s): Arno Scholz
Date/Time: Tuesday 10.03.2026 | 12:00 - 12:40 | Salle Petit Paris
Language: Deutch
Session: The Road Not Taken: A Developers Guide to Life Beyond Spring Boot
Speaker(s): Frederik Pietzko
Date/Time: Tuesday 10.03.2026 | 14:00 - 14:40 | Das Studio
Language: English
Abstract: Beyond Spring Boot lies a world of possibilities waiting to be explored. Join me as we chart a course from heavyweight champions Quarkus and Micronaut, through the versatile terrain of Helidon, to the surprisingly capable micro-frameworks Javalin and Ktor.
We'll dive deep into architectural philosophies, comparing startup times, memory footprints, and developer experience across these diverse ecosystems. Through practical examples and real-world scenarios, we'll analyze performance characteristics, examine deployment strategies, and uncover the unique strengths each framework brings to your development arsenal.
Whether you're building cloud-native microservices, high-throughput APIs, or lightweight applications, this exploration will equip you with the knowledge to make informed decisions beyond the familiar Spring Boot territory.
The journey from enterprise to lightweight might just change how you choose your next framework.
Session: AI-Powered Form Wizards: Chat, Click, Done
Speaker(s): Loïc Magnette
Date/Time: Tuesday 10.03.2026 | 17:00 - 17:40 | Das Studio
Language: English
Abstract: Forms are everywhere—tax declarations, job applications, or even signing up for a new service. Although some forms are simple, many include ambiguous fields, complicated logic, or subpar design, which frustrates users and makes them more likely to make mistakes. Completing paperwork shouldn't be like solving a puzzle. What if consumers could just chat with an AI that walks them through each step instead of having to struggle?
In this session, I'll discuss my experience developing an AI-powered form-filling helper with LangChain4j, Quarkus and other useful Java libraries. We'll go over the challenges faced and how to overcome them, such as transforming text into form data with validations, assisting users based on their input, and the role of RAG in all of that. This talk will use examples to demonstrate how AI can assist users in their daily interactions with your software.
After this session, you will have the ideas and techniques to create more intelligent and user-friendly forms. Learn how to make forms enjoyable rather than tedious by using AI to assist your users, reduce errors, and eliminate aggravation.
Session: Local LLMs to Enterprise AI: from your laptop to production
Speaker(s): Marta Blaszczyk & Marco Klaassen
Date/Time: Wednesday 11.03.2026 | 13:00 - 13:40 | Dome
Language: English
Abstract: We are going to dive into how open-source tools are making it easier than ever to build applications powered by large language models (LLMs). In this session, we will break down how to integrate and fine-tune LLMs to enhance your dev workflow and we are going to show you 4 demos going from our laptop to production.
We will cover a bunch of useful tools and concepts like:
Technologies used for the demos: Quarkus, Podman, Podman AI Lab, Langchain4j, InstructLab, Kubernetes, Backstage and Open Data Hub.
Whether you’re already deep into AI or just curious about how to get started, this session is all exploring open-source technology in an interactive way.
Session: Secure AI agents with Quarkus LangChain4j
Speaker(s): Willem Jan Glerum
Date/Time: Wednesday 11.03.2026 | 16:00 - 16:40 | CircusCelebration
Language: English
Abstract: AI agents are increasingly used within enterprise applications and securing them has become a critical concern. You for example don't want your agent to drop your database or accidentally execute privileged actions on your API. In this session, we will use live coding to show you how to build yet simple but secure AI agents using Quarkus LangChain4j.
In this talk, we will demonstrate how to:
This talk is suitable for developers new to AI and more experienced developers who want to learn how to secure AI agents in their projects. Some knowledge of Java, Quarkus and LangChain4j is helpful but not required.
