Bug description

This issue has been trouble on-and-off for a few years, but it's kind of difficult to describe (hopefully searchers find this) and reproduce, so I've procrastinated opening an issue.

may be related to #2596, I also tried describing here.

Basically, I use full-screen mode a lot (almost exclusively for apps that support it), particularly Firefox. Using QS (pop open, use QS, close and return to whatever full-screen app "behind" it) often then results in the fullscreen app being unable to regain focus -- it's visible, but clicking on it doesn't put it in the foreground, none of its UI elements (e.g. the address bar in Firefox) work. To regain focus, I have to swipe to another space or app, click into it, then swipe back to the first app.

It is intermittent. Just try to reproduce a few times and couldn't, but I've definitely seen it recently.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Use an app in full-screen mode
  2. Launch Quicksilver (which opens overtop, the full-screen app remains visible in the background throughout this process)
  3. Use Quicksilver #TODO: to do what? I think it's often "show large text" "type text"... what else?
  4. Close Quicksilver
  5. The app from 1st step remains visible but no longer can be interactive with -- file menu, buttons, nothing works
  6. Swipe to something else on a different Space (or a different fullscreen app), click on it, then swipe back, all is fixed

Expected behavior

The fullscreen app should regain clickability once QS is dismissed

MacOS Version

15.5 (24F74) (issue has preceded this)

Quicksilver Version

Relevant Plugins

  • Using Bezel Classic as my interface
  • Many, plugins, not sure they are relevant (#TODO do we have an easy way for users to copy a list of their enabled plugins to paste into issues? Might be worthwhile)
