loose object...stored in .git/objects is corrupt

When attempting to update a ratgdo 2.5i from within ESPHome Builder in Home Assistant, I get the following error. Google searches on this error show various ways of correcting Git repositories which doesn't make sense in this context. How should I go about diagnosing this problem? Thank you
