chrome cannot connect to websites from within mm-webrecord

We are trying to record webpages using mm-webrecord and when we try to run chrome within the mm shell to load the page, chrome does not load anything It times out and gives the "This site can't be reached" error.

Not sure if its something to do with mm-webrecord or Chrome not supporting the "--ignore-certificate-errors" anymore. However, occasionally, like once in every 20 tries, the site loads. Which leaves me to think that it might be an issue with mm-webrecord.

Additionally, on the mm shell, chrome gives the following errors:
