Description
I've seen this happen at least on main, 0.18, and 0.17.
Known affected OS: Ubuntu: 22.10
Window manager: Gnome + X11
After 10-60 seconds the Rerun application becomes unresponsive. Once the application has been killed, no other applications trying to use the nvidia card function.
For example: vkcube works before, but afterwards will only present a black screen. However, vkcube on its own has not crashed the gpu so far. Have not exhaustively tested other nvidia applications.
Only way I have found to recover so far is to reboot the OS.
No obvious errors in dmesg or system log.
Known work-arounds
- Force Rerun to use the Intel driver instead of the nvidia driver
- Switch to nvidia performance mode instead of using on-demand graphics
