No CommandSet

I am really confused.
First, note that I'm using Revit 2025.

I have compiled revit-mcp-plugin and revit-mcp from a local git cloning. Compilation went well. I then followed all the instructions and it works well (MCP service is "running" in Claude and the MC service starts in Revit). However, when I gave instructions to Claude, it failed to find command sets. Indeed, back in Revit, when I click on Settings, I get the error that no commandset is available. I click on the "Open CommandSet Folder" which brings me to the path "...GitHub\revit-mcp-plugin\revit-mcp-plugin\bin\Release\2025\Commands" which only contains a CommandRegistry.json file which contains an empty list of command. While this is surprising, I decded to clone and build the revit-mcp-commandset repository and copy the output files in the CommandSet folder as instructed (and updated the json file content as well). But, no success.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Honestly, if you can hook up a debugger to the app and check what the Logger is saying, you might be able to see why it ain't loading the tools. MCP matches tools by string, so it must be exactly the same everywhere across the pipeline (server, client, host).

For context on what happens at this stage: MCP has this ritual (listing the capabilities), where at the start it calls a tools/list URI, that returns a JSON-RPC response with all the available tools. Click here for the docs about the capabilities handshake. These should come from that command list, and be tied to its respective Revit command, or at least that's how the spec says MCP works.

If the server doesn't advertise any tools, the host (in this case, Claude) won't show anything.
If the MCP response is something like:

Then it's the MCP client (the transport layer between Revit and Claude). Else, it's the server (revit-mcp-plugin) and it's a matter of checking if it's set up correctly.

I haven't played much with this, and I'm going with what I know about the protocol, so the debugger may be more helpful than me. If you get a RPC error, note the error code to see what happened. Hope it helps!

I think something went wrong in one of the updates, where you added the ability to load commands manually? I'm not sure why this setting is in the interface. In any case, now with a fresh installation, nothing works - Cloud does not find commands, even if they are loaded in the Revit adding settings. Revit 2026
