Cannot "Open Anyway" as exception

I've attempted to run the application through the exception in the Security panel in Preferences but I don't get the option to open anyways and get pointed to the Finder. I've attempted the Control + click avenue with no success either.

Any updates on this? I also can't open it on my mac, I don't know if there is a way around it.

Here's an override that worked for me:

In the Finder on your Mac, locate the app you want to open.
Control-click the app icon, then choose Open from the shortcut menu.
Click Open.

The app is saved as an exception to your security settings, and you can open it at any time by double-clicking it, just as you do with any registered app.

@soofloaf That did not work for me.
@florsluis What you can do is: Right-click the application, select View Package Contents, open Contents, open MacOS, run the executable file. It should pop up a terminal window and the icon will appear in the menu bar.
