I have been using elegant emacs for a while now, it's a really beautiful emacs configuration! I'm really glad that exists! I've already played quite a bit with it's configurations, and I can't help but think that it would be really aesthetic for tab bar mode to "appear"
where the file name appears!

I haven't had time to look at this, and I'm not sure if this is a valid issue to open, but still I think it would be really cool!

I've tried to play a bit with tabbar and I'm not sure how to integrate it. One potential solution would be to use actions button as I did for https://github.com/rougier/nano-emacs. That would simply allows you to navigate through the different tabs (instead of buffer currently). Also, you might want to look at nano-emacs that is quite similar to elegant emacs but is more activel maintained. I still need to write an option to have the elegant header style (it's a bit different in nano).
