Seems like proton drive is supported by rclone, so you should be already able to use it with rustic via the rclone backend. Opendal seems to not yet support it. We will have it compiled-in as soon as there is opendal support. rustic won't self-implement it, we are focusing on backup issues and leave storage issues to the already implemented backends. |

Please note that Proton support in rclone is in beta. It has been reverse engineered as Proton is lacking proper API documentation. Person who implemented it in rclone stopped working on it and as such it is experiencing serious software rot. So far there is nobody interested in continuing this work. You can search rclone forum for multiple issues nobody is fixing. Given all above I would strongly discourage you from trusting it for your backup. |

As an example, rclone seems to be using this to integrate with proton drive: https://github.com/henrybear327/Proton-API-Bridge
Would this be possible in rustic, are there significant challenges/blockers to implementing this?
