Is this project still alive? If not, is there a way to revive it?

I am currently using the branch iblis17, which is working well for me.
Maybe @rweilbacher might consider to rewind some commits and accept the PR?
There a quite some decent modifications in order to make MQTT.jl Julia 1.x-compatible

Since this package seems abandoned, I wrapped some of the mosquitto mqtt clients C api. In case anyone needs an mqtt client, you can try that one out instead: https://github.com/denglerchr/Mosquitto.jl
