It's not clear how we can do this, want to learn if there's the best practice.

Also, dropdown section has a lot of redundant examples, I think it could be consolidated more?

This will be possible with CSS soon, when more browsers support CSS Anchor Positioning

Until then, You can use something like https://floating-ui.com which does this using JS
