Hi,
I would like to report multiple problems when using it in production with contributors and a lot of videos that make this plugin very hard to use in practice.
Bugs:
Browsing videos is crashing the whole browser. I have over 7k videos, and loading them either in the Videos dashboard tab or in the browse section in the video field makes the tab completely freeze for about 10 seconds on my computer.
That is very impractical because we cannot reuse videos in different places. This makes it take much longer for contributors to upload videos and is very inefficient for storage.
Features:
I need multiple features to be able to use this in production.
Even if browsing is fixed, we cannot search by title, first because the search does not look in the title, and also because we cannot enter the title of the video in the field when we upload the video.
If we cannot search by title, it is not useful at all to be able to browse, because we can only find videos for which we have the ID—no “browsing” is required. A field with “enter the ID of a video to reuse it” would suffice.
It would be nice to have presets—for example, set playback URLs to signed by default—to avoid having to set them manually and sometimes forgetting.
It seems to me that downloading the video—either from the Mux back office or the Sanity plugin—is a requirement as well: the source file and maybe transcoded files too. In my case this is a very important pain point; with that many videos, not everyone can have a copy of all videos and must be able to download them if needed.
I might not be in the best place for this whole review. I could also break this apart into multiple issues if needed. Please get back to me as soon as possible.
