Set type of single cell

I have a column of floats, but one of the items is actually a Python list. I pressed zEnter on it to expand it. Instead of seeing it, I saw details for an error in converting it to real. I was thinking that I could mark that single cell as being a different type, but looking at the list of commands, they all seem to be for setting the type of the entire column. How can I set the cell type or otherwise expand its contents?

Oh, I guess I should just mark the column as any using z~.

Yes, that works. Also you might try zCtrl+Y instead of zEnter for objects like that (it inspects them as Python objects instead of 'diving into' the row).
