How to use color_values and colorscale ?

Hi,

I have a case where I need to color the nodes based on a feature column from my dataset. I have tried using both normalized and un-normalized versions with both default colorscale and one I concocted. But in all such scenario all my nodes in the graph are colored the same and seem to be coming from the lower colorscale value. Does anyone have tips/tricks to do this ? My feature column can have values ranging from 0 to order of 1000s. Additionally, I found that under-the-hood color_values are normalized using a MinMax scaling.

Hey @VivCh14. Do you have a minimal example of any kind to reproduce the trouble you're having?

I understand the issue now. So my feature column has few values that are high and since the mapper.visualize method internally uses a minmax-scale to rescale the supplied color_values, all nodes naturally get a lower color value! So basically my color_values are transformed to something like [0 ,0.001, 0.003, ...., 0.12, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0]. One thing I can try is to set a non-uniform colorscale.

Sounds good. Let me know how it works out. I'm going to update a couple things in Kepler mapper soon and it would be a good time to add a new feature if you think something is lacking for your use case.
