Current version (1.4.1.Final) was introduced years ago and it's causing problems with development.
Moving to 2.6.2.Final should help with resolving compatibility issues with Kafka 3.x and other dependencies.
Version 2.6.2.Final is not the newest and was chosen arbitrarily as a good first step towards updating the connector.
