Config is not restored after PC crash

What's wrong?

I'm constantly having an issue where after a laptop crash, config and bak files are not restored.

How to reproduce the bug?

1. Create config
2. Make PC crash

App already has 2 staged config writing, to prevent config corruption if something has interrupted write in the middle of the process.

I honestly don't know what happens in your case, and why it still bypasses the check.
It should create an ".old" file containing a previous (broken) config file. Can you upload it here ?

Hi. That's the issue. I also checked the code. Both files are reverted to default. So backup is overridden after reboot. It happens not once, but almost every time I get BSOD.

And notice that log file has null values written

@naixx then looks like something in windows is corrupting an %appdata% or %appdata%\GHelper contents.

How did you get the log-fragment that you posted here then if it's also nulled?

I have added and extra sanity checks for a config before actually firing a Copy command. Can you check this build ?

Just opened in notepad++ , it shows null values (screenshot 1). Seems that the app continued to write log file after nulls

Could you please show me changes? I have custom build of Ghelper from here #3032. But it doesn't touch anythoung about configs. Anyway will have to wait for a crash
