Hello, A chat is out of scope for the project, also the issue is more of a human/organizational problem than a technical one.
There are already plenty of chat systems Discord, Telegram, Matrix, etc. that exist and can provide better integration than we will ever be able to support. This project is an open-source media request and discovery manager for Jellyfin, Plex, and Emby, not an all-in-one platform. Some users have already integrated Discord bots with the Seerr API to handle some features through third-party software.
If there's an issue, the user onboarding process should be improved, the admin should provide appropriate contact methods (phone number, Discord server, etc.) from the start or after this issue the process can be improved. |

I've been trying to push everyone to log issues with Overseerr as I find it to be better for me than Plex's implementation, but it lacks the simplicity & continuity that natural language provides. When a user logs an issue, that report could appear in a continuous chat log between the individual and the administrator.
This would allow for straightforward conveying of the issue, as a bit of back forth to ascertain what the actual problem is would help cut through some users difficulty in properly describing the issue in the initial report.
Some users might be a friend of friend and not have direct communications with the server admin, others may benefit from a segmented and focused chat discussion relating to the server. But most importantly it would open up reporting communication.
