Japanese characters

Selectize mostly works well with Japanese language.
However, it looks like it has problems filtering through options with a certain Japanese katakana symbols that have small circle or two dashes on top of it like ダ　ポ　ぺ　べ　ド.
Is there any way to tweak the settings to it would properly display filtered options while inputting the above?
