Expand local testing setup explaination

It looks like there are local tests, but I'm not sure how to get the correct events working from the deployed lambda to expand the testing. 

Maybe a full walk through of the lambda dev workflow would be helpful. The lambda works out of the box, I just wonder how to build my own.
