Hello,

We've talked before on zulip about the future direction of this project and what it would take to get this registered so other packages can depend on it more easily.

Is it possible to create a checklist of the necessary steps to make this happen?

Hi, thanks for reopening this discussion. I've been busy with other projects, but would definitely like to have it registered if there are actual (potential) users for which a registration it would make it more practical.

I think the uncertain bits are mostly related to the SPIR-V to Julia compiler. Otherwise, the SPIR-V introspection support is in a pretty good state for a release, it's just a matter of figuring out what would fit in an API and what should remain internal to support future improvements.

I'll try to find some time and take a look to get a concrete list this week-end at the latest.

Great! I know we had had this discussion somewhere else (was it on github? Zulip? I don't remember). Regardless, I'm back on my animation engine kick and eyeing SPIRV as a possible target.

There's not a huge rush on my end because it will probably take at least a few weeks (maybe months) to transition to using SPIRV anyway, but I wanted to let you know that I'm interested in some form of registration eventually.

Cool! Feel free to bug me with issues or other requests.
I think it'll be good to move more concretely towards a release in any case, which I've been procrastinating for way too long.
