When will non-prerelease 3.0.0 be released?

Hello,

When will the non-prerelease 3.0.0 version be published?

I wanted to check if there are pending issues or pull requests that are needed for the 3.0.0 release, or if there is a certain waiting period on the latest prerelease (3.0.0-alpha.3) before publishing 3.0.0.

If not, could 3.0.0 be published soon?

I am asking because the my employer uses the 2.x version of this package in multiple projects, and I would like to start updating more of them to the 3.0 version to resolve #53 .

Hello,

Our situation is as follows:

• We haven't tested this alpha version within our organisation yet, and we currently lack the bandwidth to do so in the near future. This is why we haven't moved forward with it yet.
• However, if everything works well for you and you've completed your testing, I would be open to calling this version v3 stable.
• Once we begin our testing, and if we require any minor breaking changes, we will introduce a v4 for that. I'll definitely check in with you if that becomes necessary.

Does that sound reasonable?

Thank you! This sounds reasonable to me. The 3.0.0-alpha.3 version has worked well for the projects I have updated so far, and my testing is complete. Our projects only use the TCP sink however, not UDP, so I have not tested UDP. I would be good with calling this 3.0.0 stable.

More detail on our usage:

Our projects use Serilog.Sinks.Network's TCP sink to send to a fluent-bit container with the Logstash_Format option (see here) on. The fluent-bit container sends to an Amazon OpenSearch cluster.

Thanks for this @nojaf - I've got time to try integrating this into our code base now, so I'll hopefully either have done that or have new bugs by the end of the day.
