IPv4 vs IPv6 Preferences or flags

Is there a way to specify wanting a version of the IP to log over the other? Like prefer IPv4 and fallback to IPv6 or vice versa?

At the moment, this feature has not been implemented. I plan to work on it and implement it this weekend.
