I tried to run shadcn to create tanstack-start project why not working? when checking the url, the url still works, but the command keeps failed

the 400 error from shadcn registry usually means:

1. version mismatch between shadcn cli and registry
2. network/proxy issue
3. invalid template parameter

try these:

1. update shadcn cli:

npm install -g shadcn@latest
# or
npx shadcn@latest init

2. use different template:

npx shadcn@latest init --template=default

then configure tanstack start separately

3. check if its network issue:

curl "https://ui.shadcn.com/init?base=base"

if this fails, might be firewall/vpn blocking

4. manual setup:
   if cli keeps failing, setup manually:

• create components.json
• install dependencies one by one

npx shadcn@latest add button

the url you showed works in browser but cli might be sending different headers. try with verbose:

npx shadcn@latest init --debug

what version of shadcn cli are you using? npx shadcn --version

I had the same problem, I just had to make a new project with tanstack start and manually install shadcn
