VS Code: no space left on device

Hi, I use Linux Mint to try to build a firmware and I'm stuck at the «Reopen in Container» step. VS Code downloads hundreds of MB before stopping with this error: «no space left on device», which is strange since I have at least a few GB (during the process) and inodes on each of my partitions.
I checked the Internets but could not find anything.
Could someone help?

OK sorry but my "space left check" was bad and the 6.15GB image filled /var/lib/docker.

This to me is a problem. We shouldn't have to download this much to have a working dev env.
