How to modify -X to pass a --input argument for each file

I currently use a command like this:

fd --extension png --exec command --input {}

which runs command for each png. command actually supports multiple files but each of them must be given with a separate --input argument, I am trying to figure out how to achieve this using --exec-batch so that only a single instance of command is run.

I think you'll probably have to use xargs for this.

Something like:

fd --extension png --format $'--input\0{}' --print0 | xargs --null command

of for older versions that don't have --format:

fd --extension png --exec-batch printf '--input\0%s\0' | xargs --null command
