I have noticed that I can no longer search for or install vscode or any tar packages in the latest version of the appimage. This is a shame since it's the primary way I install vscode on various distros that don't have an easy method to grab it. Maybe supporting tar packages was a nightmare and removal was intentional or maybe this is a bug. In either case I hope this feature will return.

Keep up the great work! I recommend spm to all of my friends.

I will be adding VSCode and most of the other tars that were in the old version by building AppImages on install using deb2appimage.

There is a json config for building an AppImage of VSCode here, and you can install deb2appimage using spm if you would like to use that until I've added VSCode back into spm.

:EDIT:
If there's anything else in particular you're missing, feel free to let me know, and I'll try to get a working json config going for building it with deb2appimage.

Wow, what a quick reply! I really appreciate the offer to spend your time taking package requests on top of building and supporting the overall application. I will let you know if I can think of anything to add and if you can get around to writing some documentation showing me how to help you package stuff I will give it my best shot.
