Native File Upload & Attachment Support in Quill Editor Core

Quill Editor is excellent for rich text editing, but currently lacks inbuilt support for file uploading and attaching files (e.g., documents, PDFs, pasted or dragged in). Many developers implement this manually, which leads to duplicated effort and inconsistent UX across apps.

I’d like to propose adding a native or official module/plugin in Quill that:

• Allows users to upload files directly through a toolbar button or drag-drop zone.
• Supports common file types (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, etc.) and displays them as clickable attachments or icons.
• Provides hooks for handling file uploads (e.g., onUpload, onAttach) so developers can integrate with custom storage backends (like AWS S3, Firebase, etc.).
• Optionally supports preview or download links within the editor content.

Benefits:

• Saves time for developers building editors that require attachments.
• Keeps UX consistent across projects using Quill.
• Aligns with how modern messaging, document, and note-taking apps handle files
