[v0.7.0] Formatter hangs on format

I have a simple barebones API with a smithy-build.json and main.smithy. After installing this extension I get syntax highlighting and formatting to work which is promising, but whenever the formatter runs (which I have configured to run on save), the extension hangs. VS Code shows "Running 'Smithy' Formatter" indefinitely. No errors or log statements appear.

I have tried setting up the Smithy LSP Root Path also to no avail.

Is there a configuration step I am missing? Is formatting supposed to work?

After further investigation, I found out that coursier is a required dependency. There are utilities in this extension that attempt to download coursier but evidently they do not work. I was able to get this extension to work as advertised after following these coursier installation instructions and restarting VS Code.

Note that for Apple Silicon Macs, you cannot use brew to install coursier as it vends an older version which does not work with the ARM-based CPU. See this issue for details on that.
