RTSP support (or M3U passthru)

Version 5.x of Tivimate supports RTSP streams which are typically used for security cams. If I create my own M3U (as shown below) and add it to Tivimate, the streams work as expected.

However, if create a new playlist in m3u-editor using that same M3U (resulting M3U shown below), I get a 500 error in Tivimate.

I've tried flipping every setting I can think of (i.e. proxy, transcoding profile, etc.) but nothing has worked. Just wondering if I am missing something or if this can be made to work within m3u-editor.

It's cool to have but with home assistant and new app called quick bars we can now have those cameras pop up in android when motion is triggered etc just a thought however try converting your stream to a different format using the docker container called "rtsp-to-mjpeg" that should fix the issue

Gotta Ask do you have proxy for that playlist enabled or disabled. Because if it is disabled it should pass this stream just through. Or can you try to change the input to hls?

I tried both ways. The snippet above is with proxy disabled. I don't think I can select HLS since I am supplying a direct M3U as teh source and not API, right?

Hmm, yeah just realized this as well. Well maybe someone could implement a function to not proxy this of maybe know more about RTSP than I do 😄

This doesn't work for the Xtream API endpoint, but if you're just using the M3U output, you can add DISABLE_M3U_XTREAM_FORMAT=true to force the provider URL to output instead of passing through the editor. This should work to directly forward your stream urls 😉

I assume that this is set via a container varible, correct? If yes, it won't work for me since I'd only want to set this for my security cams playlist and not my IPTV provider playlist.

ps. this by no means a high priority as I have a working solution. It just isn't centrally managed.

You are correct! And that makes sense, I'll review and see what we can do to better support RTSP...
